Focus preparation
Evidence from exercises helps educators and program designers concentrate on the skills real conditions demand.
National Cyber Readiness Foundation
NCRF is a nonprofit foundation created to advance cyber readiness by connecting education, applied research, realistic exercises, and long-term stewardship of programs that develop and test capability.
Current conditions. Observable performance. Evidence put to work.
Education develops knowledge and skill. Practice develops judgment. Readiness asks whether people and teams can put all three to work when conditions are demanding and the outcome matters.
Realistic exercises make that progression visible. They give people the chance to perform, reveal where preparation or tools fall short, and produce evidence that can improve what comes next.
Explore NCRF's approachResearch sets the conditions. Exercises reveal performance. Evidence changes what people, programs, and technologies do next. Then the cycle begins again.
Study current and emerging threats, technologies, and operational methods—including adversary capabilities and the tools changing how cyber work is performed.
The purpose of measuring readiness is not to produce a score. It is to strengthen the people, programs, technologies, and institutions that others depend on.

People build technical judgment and professional competence by applying knowledge as part of a team.
Tools can be evaluated with the people, decisions, and workflows expected to use them.
Better-prepared people, teams, and systems support the institutions and public interests that rely on them.
NCCDC gives students something classrooms rarely can: responsibility for a live enterprise network while a professional Red Team is actively working against them.
NCRF is being established as a new home for NCCDC. Its founding leadership comes from inside the CCDC community, with years spent competing, volunteering, and building the program. As NCRF's flagship event, NCCDC is also its clearest bridge between cyber education and workforce readiness.
NCRF is being established to carry NCCDC forward as its flagship program and an enduring bridge between cyber education and workforce capability.
